Bowburn Hall was built in the early 1920's as Bowburn Grange and was originally a large country house for the first colliery agent at the local coal mine. It was bought by Ramside Estates in the mid 1960's and converted into an hotel. In 1988 the hotel added a large conservatory and extended the Ballroom.
